Pharmaceutical Company Portal
Empower those while on the path to cure cancer
The Problem

What can help ease the anxiety of cancer treatment?

This project includes not only the breadth of UX, but heavily addresses the element of human emotion. Yescarta (also referred to as Kite) is a first of its kind treatment for adults with large B-cell lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. At the point in time when this treatment is recommended, patients have tried other courses-this is one of the final options.

The Process

Let's break it down.

What's the framework?

We took Yescarta’s driving factors and used them as guiding principals for the patient portal design- guidance, empowerment, and hope.
Looking beyond the typical needs of a portal, we aimed to alleviate doubt or confusion in any way we could. This approach translated into a clear site, progress tracking, and a friendly aesthetic.

Guiding principles

Atomic Design is a system used to build and organize design elements. This was used as a framework check key elements for consistency of usage and style across the five live sites.

Guidance
The basic building blocks of design
Empowerment
Reusable groupings of atoms
Hope
Combining of molecules into more complex modules & pages
Personas

The Nitty Gritty

Wireframes

This project consisted of extensive audits over five existing client properties. Following the framework of atomic design, we documented and evaluated the atoms, templates and molecules that made up each property.

How does it look?

Working with the existing company brand, we leveraged their pallet in a way that would create a clam, approachable, and clear environment.

The RESULTS

So, here's what we did

After several weeks of audit and assessment, we summarized our findings highlighting areas of excellence and opportunities.

So now what?

The research revealed several opportunities for improvement and uncovered a lack of design system management. By uncovering and identifying these areas, the client asked us to take on a new project of implementing a design system IA that would resolve design issues, develop best practices, and develop a clear brand.
